Behind the Brand
Nikki Beach was born as a heartfelt tribute to Nicole, founder Jack Penrod’s beloved daughter, whose life was tragically cut short at just 18. To honor her memory, Jack and his wife Lucia transformed the pool area of Penrod’s Beach Club at 1 Ocean Drive into Café Nikki, a serene butterfly garden designed to celebrate life through music, dining, entertainment, fashion, film, and art. The space quickly became a gathering place for an affluent international crowd, inspiring Jack and Lucia to expand onto the sands of South Beach. In 1998, the first Nikki Beach was created, blending all-white décor, global cuisine, and a vibrant ambiance that reflected Nicole’s joyful spirit. What began as a tribute to her has since grown into a global company, with each Nikki Beach location carrying forward her legacy of beauty, celebration, and connection.
